Get Started

Software and Data Requirements

You will need the free R software (www.cran.r-project.org) or Stata (www.stata.com) installed on your computer (and, as an option, the free "shiny", "shinydashboard", and "ggplot2" R packages to use RCT-YES-Graph in R). No programming knowledge is required.

You will need a data file accessible from your computer, which will be used in the analysis. This file should be a .dta file if you plan to use Stata or a .rds file if you will use R. Instructions for converting Excel (.CSV) files into an R file can be found in the User's Manual.

EXAMPLE DATASETS USED IN THE USER'S MANUAL AND VIDEOS:

Example R Dataset  (RDS: 47 KB)

Example Stata Dataset (ZIP: 49 KB)

Example CSV Dataset (CSV: 161 KB)

Key changes in Versions 1.2, 1.3 and 1.4 (see updated User's Manuals for details on all changes):
  1. RCT-YES can now accommodate designs where individuals or groups are randomized to more than two research groups
  2. For clustered designs, the regression models are now estimated using individual level data (if provided) rather than data averaged to the cluster level
  3. The variance formulas have been updated for random block designs to allow for correlations between block impacts and weights
